You’ll feel the caring and togetherness we share during the harvest, aging and blending process as you enjoy our wines with your own friends and loved ones. Plus, with the intimate nature of the Vineyard, our visitors quickly start to feel like part of the family themselves!
The Earth Provides
Great soil produces great grapes; great grapes lead to robust, delicious wines. Our vineyard is perfectly situated to take advantage of the nutrient-rich mountain soil, and, thanks to this, our grapes exhibit a hardiness and vibrancy that lends to the distinctive character of our wines. Depending on the vintage, we’ll also source selected grapes of other regions—from Napa to Washington state—and we always seek out mountain-grown fruit. You’ll taste the flavorful difference in each of our varietals.
Local Flavor
At Sunshine Mountain Vineyard, we are proud to be known as your local San Marcos winery. We believe that many of the attributes that lend to our fabulous wines—the abundant sunshine, cool ocean breeze, rolling foothills—also contribute to a wonderful community that we very much enjoy being a part of. The Vineyard’s beautiful setting and intimate private tasting tours afford us an opportunity to share our little piece of heaven with neighbors near and far, adding to the size of our “family” with each new visitor.

Tradition and innovation are blended perfectly throughout the wine crafting process at our San Marcos winery. From first planting to final bottling, we use methodology borrowed from old Italy, complemented by contemporary know-how, equipment and techniques. Cold soaking, creative flavor balancing, French oak aging—these are just some of the lengths we go to to ensure that the quality and flavor of our San Marcos wine is unmatched.
